Luis F. Hernandez Luis started his martial arts training at 8 y/o attending classes of Taekwondo and Kung Fu in private sessions; in 1991 at the age of 20 he started his Ninja training at the Martial Arts School JAGSUMA (Bogotá-Colombia), receiving his Shodan (Black Belt First Dan) in Ninjutsu in January 1996. During his training at JAGSUMA he had the opportunity to practice diferent martial arts including Keng-Do (Colombian martial art style), Taekwondo, Kick Boxing and Olimpic gymnastics; for a short time he was training Aikido under the Yoshinkai Association and also was able to practice under the Aikikai Association in Bogota (Colombia) attending several seminars per association; in the United States received instruction in Hakko Ryu Jujitsu under Sensei Harold (Harry) Glackin. Luis has participated in several local and international competitions, receiving different awards. As a martial arts professor he has founded martial arts groups in universities and private schools in the United States and abroad. Currenltly he is the Head Martial Arts instructor at New Hope School , private institution located in Clifton NJ, instructing Ninjutsu to children ages 6-11 y/o. |
Today Luis holds the rank of Judan (10th degree black belt) in the Bujinkan Association of Japan under Soke Masaaki Hatsumi, continuing his practice actively with Jack Hoban Daishihan in NJ. Luis also has been awarded Godan (5th degree black belt) in Jiujutsu under the International Sho Shorin Ryu Ju-Jutsu Association, as well as represents Soke Otsuka Yasuyuki from the International Meifu Shinkage Ryu (especialized in Shurikenjutsu) in the United States. He attends classes at the Bujinkan Hombu Dojo in Japan once a year, in order to further his own practice as well as training with friends. |

Bogota, Colombia Publications: 1996 Title: Ninja the Warrior's Evolution Description: Thesis to optain the degree of Black Belt First Dan. It was the result of 2 years of continuos research around the martial arts origins, in order to establish the different aspects that influenced the begins of Ninjutsu. The investigation covered two areas: historic recopilation (Book) and a technological area (Software); a Multimedia Ninjutsu Enciclopedy was created as a prototype to be used as a part of the Ninja education at the Academy of Martial Arts JAGSUMA; the encyclopedia was totally developed by its investigators.
